Italy Holiday: Day 02

Today, on the second day of my holiday, I made the mistake of checking my work email.

Background info: Last week, I asked for the webmail URL for our email accounts, so that I could at least get on top of my inbox (by dealing with them from home) before going away.

Big mistake! When checking today, I started reading them, assessing their importance, filing them, and even putting blue and red flags against them! It immediately stressed me out (reminding me of the huge amount of work I’ll have to do when I get back).

Learnings: I will NOT check my work email AT ALL while on annual leave. Otherwise I won’t have a real mental break from it, defeating the purpose of a holiday.
