My N95 Mobile is Now Unlocked
My gorgeous N95 is now unlocked. Cost me £10 from a phone shop on Mare Street. Fuck you iPhone, with your shiny huge billboard ads EVERYWHERE, your penetration of every magazine, newspaper, and TV, casting yourself as absolutely desirable, most beautiful necessity.
Unlike the iPhone, the N95 has a 5 Megapixel-camera, and 3G (the iPhone’s camera [...]

A HOT video of lenina 1991
A friend of mine yesterday gave me a link to a youtube - video I’m in. I used to work behind the bar in an indie club in Germany, and in 1991 for some reason two of the DJs made a video portray of said club.
Seeing that back then, I was one of the ‘Vorzeigepunks’ [...]

How to Go Viral (2G1C)
It’s very difficult for an online video to go viral these days. Here are two ways of doing so:
Deploy various conscious strategies (as explained here: The Secret Strategies Behind Many ‘Viral’ Videos)
Create a video so horrible, disgusting, and unwatchable, that it’s a genuine watercooler moment (as can be seen here: Two Girls One Cup - [...]

TV Tip: The Mighty Boosh
On tonight, 22:30, BBC3.
The Mighty Boosh is basically a comical, surreal, collage of pop-cultural references, postmodernism, and non-sense. Episode 1 of the new series (series 3) started last week, and it’s genius! Namedropping Shoreditch (where I work and where series 3 is set), it manages to be both progressive/subversive and very funny.
I.e. it works on [...]

Michael Palin’s New Europe: Poland
Tonight on the telly: Michael Palin’s (of Monthy Python-fame) ‘Pole to Pole’. In his series on new Europe, he’s in Poland tonight. I’ll be watching it, to gain more understanding of the country my friend automatthias escaped from

Making Money Online: Cash for Kills (Kwari)
I’ve always been interested in opportunities to make money via telework. I.e. sit on your arse all day, go and make a cuppa tea whenever you want, and then go back to the computer, etc. etc. ad infinitum. I started teleworking in 2002 and have only now begun going to an office occasionally.
I came across [...]

Accents Make the Heart Grow Fonder
I’ve just had to speak to an insurance company from (the Republic of) Oireland, to cancel the renewal of a car insurance I no longer own. Speaking to the guy on the phone who had a broad Oirish accent, I had to concentrate hard to understand what he was saying.
While I thus don’t miss Oirish [...]

TV Tip: The IT Crowd
I haven’t been following the second series of The IT Crowd, but tonight I finally saw an episode (I think it’s episode 4 - which is shit since it means that I’ve missed episodes 1-3 ).
Anyway, it was excellent, and Firefox was namechecked (they talked about a Firefox extension).
The IT Crowd’s Wikipedia page talks [...]

Embedding an Object in WordPress?
I’ve been trying to embed an object (a flash movie) in WordPress. It doesn’t seem to work. I’ll look into it tomorrow - I seem to remember that it’s not possible to use the object tag.
I.e. it is possible, but it doesn’t work
