Ron Mueck Show in Edinburgh

I’ve been wanting to see Ron Mueck’s work which is currently on display at the National Gallery of Scotland, here in Edinburgh. I want to go either today or tomorrow though the weather really puts me off! It’s quite cold here in Edinburgh (as usual) and if I did go I would want to walk there (around 35-minutes-walk from where I live), at least one way. The forecast for tomorrow is rain though šŸ˜¦ .

It’s not very healthy staying indoors all day, but I think today that’s what I’m going to do. I’ve finally set up the PS2 and got my own memory card, so I can continue playing Prince of Persia – the Two Thrones. I might also do some boring housework stuff such as mopping the kitchen floor.

Back to the Ron Mueck show – There’s a decent article on the artist in the Guardian, here, and below are some pics of his work.

Power Laws, Weblogs, and Inequality

hmph, my life is fairly easy this morning. I’ve just read a brilliant article that I want to link to from here as it very usefully connects to the debate on increasing blog traffic. I.e. I think that our attempts to increasing blog traffic are a direct response (obviously) to the power laws of the blogging sphere as described beautifully and succinctly (couldn’t have done it better myself) in Clay Shirky’s essay from 2003. After reading Shirky’s article, I wonder whether I should stop my campaign to revive dead blogs (Blog Liberation Front). After all, there are too many blogs anyhow, so why not let them die. Let sleeping dogs die? Only a dead blog is a good blog? You decide.

Here’s the link to the article.

And here a link to the Guardian blog where I found it in the first place.
